KXLU Final Countdown Fundraiser ‘85 (Part 1)
Posted in Here’s something I thought about posting for a while. If you are at all familiar with college radio, you know that a certain amount of funding is provided by the institution. Anything above and over that needs to be culled from other financial sources. Thus, the KXLU fundraiser. They happened once a year and I dreaded doing it. I HATED shilling for money but it was a required thing and the station expected you to do it. This broadcast was my first year doing it so I wanted to make sure I got it right. My guests for the show were Jordan Schwartz (We Got Power Fanzine), Dave Markey (We Got Power/Sin 34) and Philco (Mystic Records). If you listen, you can tell I’m stressed out…normally it was a circus when Jordan and Dave were up there but this time I was gettin’ $eriou$. Hope you dig it…send your comments…
